Lauded as a modern-day sex symbol of the Hollywood silver screen and one of the biggest movie stars in the world, it would seem that blending in with the crowd would be difficult for Scarlett Johansson, however the movie star was able to slip through Sydney Airport unnoticed over the Easter long weekend.

The 31-year-old BAFTA Award winner managed to enter and leave Australia in a low-key fashion on her way back to the US. Her visit was merely a stopover in Sydney Airport after filming wrapped up in Wellington in New Zealand for science fiction film Ghost in the Shell.

The Captain America actor managed to leave as quietly as she came thanks to her dressed down appearance, with 17-month-old daughter Rose in two. Seen being escorted by an airport staff member through Sydney Airport's international terminal with her daughter strapped to her chest, Johansson was almost unrecognisable in a baseball cap and oversized glasses.

Wheeling a large suitcase behind her, the famous beauty barely warranted a second glance with her boy-cropped hair hidden under a New York Yankees cap. Her famously beautiful face was mostly obscured by a large pair of spectacles and as she juggled her young daughter and boarding passes, she all but blended in with the crowd.

Esquire magazine's two-time "Sexiest Woman Alive", Johansson was dressed for comfort for the long flight ahead of her sporting baggy trousers, a denim jacket and a pair of Adidas sneakers. Despite her famous features, this isn't the first time she's flown under the radar, with her visit to New Zealand a well-kept secret.

Thanks to her pared back appearance, many locals failed to recognise her during her time in Wellington. Scarlett and husband Romain Dauriac has been based in the seaside suburb of Seatoun Heights in Wellington since early February where Johansson has been working on a manga adaptation.
