Brighton-Le-Sands is on the western shore of Botany Bay, more or less directly across the water from La Perouse. It is just south Sydney's international airport, which has its main north-south runway jutting into the bay. The main access road, General Holmes Drive, passes under the runway and become The Grand Parade. It then runs along the beach past Brighton-Le-Sands and Monterey to Dolls Point. There are three swimming baths on the very long stretch of sand. Brighton has a 4.5 star hotel in the Novotel Brighton Beach, and a handful of restaurants. The hotel is a pleasant alternative to an airport hotel for very short-stay visitors. It caters for a lot of conferences and has good facilities and a big swimming pool.

Botany Bay is shallow and quickly gets rough in windy conditions, so the beach is good only in good weather.
